Rui Posto


1.Rui/Rahu  fish 4/6 pieces
2.Onion 1 small or 1/2 medium chopped
3.Tomato  1 chopped
4.4 green chilies
5.Turmeric  pwd 1tsp
6.Red chili pwd 1/2tsp
7.Kalonji  1/2 tsp
8.Poppy seed paste 1 1/2 tsp
9.Salt to taste
10.Mustard oil 4tbsp
11.Coriander leaves for garnishing


First clean the fish and marinade with half of turmeric and salt and keep aside for 10mins. Now heat the oil in a kadai and fry the fish till golden brown. In the remaining oil add black cumin seeds and green chilies and when they splatter add the chopped onion. Fry the onion till soften and now add the chopped tomatoes. Fry for few mins. Now add the poppy seed paste, remaining turmeric ,red chili pwd ,salt and fry. When oil separates from gravy add the fried fish and fry again. Now add some water and bring the gravy boil. Let the gravy boil till it becomes thick. Now remove the kadai from heat and garnish it with chopped fresh coriander leaves. Serve it with steamed rice.

Rohu curry with eggplant & potato:


Rohu 4pieces
Potato 2 medium cut into wedges
Eggplants  1 cut into long pieces
Onion 1 medium chopped
Ginger  1" long grated
Tomato  puree 1/2 cup
Turmeric   1 teaspoon
Cumin pwd  1/2 teaspoon
Red chili pwd 1/2 teaspoon
Green chilies  4 to garnish
Panch foron 1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Mastered oil   4  tablespoon
Water  1 1/2 cup
Coriander leaves to garnish


Clean the fish pieces and marinate with 1/2 of turmeric and salt. Then heat the oil in a kadai and fry fish pieces till golden brown.
Now in the remaining oil add panch foron and  onion and fry till soften.  Now add  chopped tomatoes into the fried onion and again fry . Now add the potatoes and eggplant  and fry. Then add cumin , red chili and turmeric pwd and little water to it and stir.  When oil separates add the grated ginger and salt and fry for few minutes.
Now add the fried fish and again fry it for 1 minute and after that add water and reduce the heat and let the gravy boil.
When the potatoes have  cooked remove the kadai from  heat and garnish the gravy with chopped coriander  leaves and green chilies and serve with steamed rice.

Rui Macher Kalia


Rahu fish  6 pieces
Onions 2 medium
Garlic 3 cloves
Ginger 1/2"long
Tomato puree 1/2 cup or 2 tomatoes
Turmeric 1 teaspoon
Red chili pwd 1/2 teaspoon
Garam masala pwd 1/2 teaspoon
4 green chilies for garnishing
Whole methi 1/4 teaspoon
Radhuni or Celery seeds 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
Mastered oil 4 tablespoons
Salt to taste


Clean the fish pieces and marinate them with half of the turmeric & salt and keep them aside for 10mins.
Now grind the onion and extract the juice from the paste. Grind the ginger & garlic together and extract the juice. Grind the whole tomato  to make the puree. 
Now heat the oil in a kadai  and  fry the fish pieces to the golden brown color. Now add the radhuni & the meethi seeds to the oil. When they starts splattering add 1 teaspoon of  onion paste and fry. When  the color become golden add the juice of the onion and bring it to boil. When its boiling add the ginger garlic juice. Boil it for 2mins. now add the tomato puree. When the gravy becomes thick add salt & some water. Now add the fried fish and simmer the heat. When the gravy becomes thick remove it from heat. Sprinkle garam masala pwd.  Garnish the kalia with the green chilies and serve it with steamed rice.

7.Kismis bata: 2 tea spoon
8.Jire bata : andaj moto
9.Cooking oil: andaj moto
10Cream (preferably fresh): 100 gm
11.Ghee: 2-3 tea spoon
12Garam Masala : 1 tea spoon
13.Sugar : andaj moto
14.Mouri bata: 2-3 tea spoon
15.Lanka bata: andaj moto

Step 1: Mach nun holud diye bheje nite hobe.
Step 2: Oil e Pneaj bata+ada bata+kismish bata+jire bata+mouri bata+Lanka bata+ holud+nun diye koshte hobe.
Step 3: Bhalo kore masla kosha hole, doi fetiye kosha masla te dite hobe.
Step 4: Erpor er modhye bhaja mach gulo diye jol dite hobe. Aanch komiye dheke rekhe ranna korle sobtheke bhalo.
Step 5: Jol jokhon sukiye asbe aanch theke soriye ghee+gorom masla+cream dilei "Rui Macher Korma" ready.
